This is a continuation from the last post:
- Know exactly what you first sentence(s) will be. Memorize a short opening statement so you will easily say it with eye contact on the listeners, not on your notes.
- As often as possible, rehearse in front of someone and try out their suggestions.
- Don't have any time to rehearse? Practice parts of your speech when you have a few moments. You will build your confidence when you know that you can easily deliver certain parts of your talk easily.
- Don’t allow your mind to make you crazy! Write down your concerns and dispute the unrealistic ones.
- If you are driving to a meeting, leave early to accommodate traffic problems and avoid added stress. Arrive early to make sure the sound system works properly. Ask for help.
