Tricks others have used:

  1. Winston Churchill would envision the listeners in their underwear.
  2. See yourself as very tall and big and the listeners as small, little people.
  3. Step out of character – Act as though you were the best speaker that they’ve ever seen.
  4. Write your notes in pencil so that others can’t see what you’ve written.
  5. Write or print out your notes in a large font so you can push them farther in front of you on the table and not have to look so far down to consult them.
